Late June is peak season, when the island's blue and white hydrangeas are in full bloom, so rooms and ferries fill up early. We recommend booking as soon as you can.

Flying to ACK
Flying straight into Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK) is the fastest way here, especially from New York or Boston. Summer flights sell out, so book early.
From New York
- JFK: JetBlue seasonal nonstops, about 45 min
- LGA: Delta and American summer weekend nonstops
- EWR: United Express seasonal nonstops
From Boston
- BOS: Cape Air runs roughly hourly flights. JetBlue adds daily summer nonstops, about 35 min.
Once you land
ACK is about 3.5 miles from town. There are taxis right outside, Uber and Lyft, and the free WAVE bus every 20–30 minutes.
By sea
Ferries from the mainland
The ferry is a relaxing way to arrive. We suggest leaving your car behind. The island is very walkable, parking is tight, and car reservations on the ferry can fill up a year ahead.

No car required
The WAVE shuttle
Nantucket's bus network is completely free. Main routes connect town, the airport, and the beaches every 15–30 minutes until late.
Taxis
You'll find taxis at the airport and ferry docks. Flat rates are set by zone, usually $15–$25 across town.
Uber & Lyft
Both run all summer. Tip: request rides 15–20 minutes early between 4:30 and 5:30 PM, when everyone's heading out.
